Southwestern Pennsylvania Biotechnology
2+2+2 Workforce Pipeline Partnership

Coordinated by the Catalyst Connection and the Pittsburgh Tissues Engineering Initiative

discovers.gifExciting science/biotech careers are plentiful in southwestern Pennsylvania. Thanks to the abundance of world-class universities, research institutions and health care facilities thriving in southwestern Pennsylvania, this industry cluster is on the rise. To meet the emerging needs of our region’s bioindustry cluster, a coalition of local educational and economic development organizations developed and implemented an integrated “2+2+2” life sciences curriculum. Spanning high schools, two- and four-year colleges and universities, the curriculum is specifically designed to prepare students for a career in life sciences.
