The Capital Area Biotechnology Partnership

The partnership sponsors additional programs and special opportunities that give you more exposure to the field, advanced learning opportunities and an advantage when you are ready for employment in this field.

If you are interested in the field of biology, biotechnology, life sciences or forensic biology, you should enroll in the Biotech Partnership. When you take classes offered by the Partnership, you are not only getting engaging academics and additional support from professors, but the program is designed to give you contacts and connections that lead to employment opportunities in the region.

Courses offered at the three partner schools--SciTech High, HACC and Harrisburg University--will prepare you to enter the workforce at any time in the program. Ultimately, by enrolling at HU for the Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology, you will be fully prepared and competitive for employment in this field.

Still unsure? Whether you are confident about your choice, or uncertain and just want to explore, the program gives you flexibility, choices, support and incorporates related academic work you’ve already done.

Benefits of the Program

Enroll in the program at any time—from high school or as a transfer from community college. The Biotech learning community is a university program that offers extra-curricular programs such as:

  • Field trips to employers
  • Biotech club activities
  • Internships and job shadowing
  • Up to $200 book award for related textbooks
  • Extra support from faculty
  • Employer recognized completion certificates through your progress
