Nanotechnology: Train the Trainer Workshops Print

These workshops are intended for post-secondary faculty and administrators who are interested in starting or enhancing nanotechnology programs. The workshops go over NACK’s set of six Undergraduate Level Nanotechnology Courses including classroom presentations and corresponding lab activities. The objective of these workshops is to train faculty in effectively delivering these nanotechnology courses. The six course suite includes:
ESC 211   Materials, Safety, and Equipment Overview
ESC 212   Basic Nanotechnology Processes
ESC 213   Materials in Nanotechnology
ESC 214   Patterning for Nanotechnology
ESC 215   Materials Modification for Nanotechnology Applications
ESC 216   Characterization, Testing of Nanotechnology Structures and Materials
Join us for one or all of these Train the Trainer Workshops for faculty and administrators who offer, or intend to offer, courses based on the NACK nanotechnology suite. Expenses for lodging and travel will be reimbursed for accepted applicants.

May 10-13:
This workshop will focus on ESC 211 & ESC 212.
Apply now! Applications due April 23. Applicants will be notified by April 26.

August 9-12: This workshop will focus on ESC 213 & ESC 214.
Application due July 9. Applicants will be notified by July 16.

October 4-7:This workshop will focus on ESC 215 & ESC 216.
Application due September 3. Applicants will be notified by September 10.

The Train the Trainer workshops will be held at the NACK Center at Penn State University. Lectures and discussions will be held at the Lubert building. The hands-on laboratory work will be accomplished using the cleanrooms at Penn State's Materials Research Institute (MRI) building.
